Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Is there anything in the book In His Steps, by Charles Sheldon that a Catholic mom should be warned about prior to letting her 8th grade son read it?

TIA!

I read it years and years ago. The general premise is based on if an entire town asked themselves, "What would Jesus do" before making any decisions. It led to things like certain businesses refusing to be open on Sundays, running the local bar out of town, stuff like that. I was still protestant when I read it and I don't even think I was married yet, so I can't comment on the Catholic issue, but I think there is the potential that some of the interpretations for what Jesus would do might be different. It might be worth a quick pre-read.
