Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

In Elizabeth's book, she mentions that the Vision series can be used as a full course for a year all by itself. I have the study guide book she recommends. I'm wondering if anyone has done this, and what age or grade would you recommend it for? Would it be possible to do it for 2 students who are 2 years apart? (They'll be grades 2 and 4 this year, but I'm thinking of doing it for grades 3 and 5) Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm doing it this year with a 7-yo, 10-yo and 13-yo. I think it's very possible -- we'll be picking and choosing what's appropriate and doable for each child. We're not doing it "all by itself" though.

I haven't done it as a standalone. The guide is Saints of the Church: A Teacher's Guide to the Vision Books by Michael Allen.

Unfortunately the guide doesn't reflect all the newly reprinted Vision Books by Ignatius, which now number 27 titles. Nor does it encompass the whole list of the Vision Series. I keep hoping there will be a newer guide that encompasses the majority of the Vision books.

Another useful tool to find different saints' books from different series, both in-print and out-of-print is Reading the Saints: Lists of Catholic Books for Children plus Book Collecting Tips for the Home and School Library by Janet P. McKenzie. It has many different lists that organize the saints by era or country. I think it's a really useful tool for planning the school and liturgical year.

Very interesting, thanks!
I'm wondering, Stefoodie, what else are you adding to it? I'm assuming math, what else?
Thanks!
