Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Slim pickins up here in MA for Catholics, though I understand that there is one starting up this year in the western part of the state. Brian and I have finally decided that *this* is the year to hit the circuit - or at least a part of it. It occured to me that there is much to be gained by the fellowship of other families with similar values (beyond homeschooling alone).

My question is whether or not kids are accommodated or even welcomed at these things. It seems a great opportunity for Catholic homeschooled families to hang around together. Again, big Catholic families are fairly thin on the ground here. We have a couple of other families at our parish with more than 5, and a few more sprinkled throughout the diocese. I understand that many of them are RC families and sort of have their own social thing worked out. Since Brian and I really aren't interested in joining RC, we are limited.

What conferences do you attend, or are on your wish list?

Blessings,

Nissa,

We have a nice one in July 2009 in Dayton, OH. You can visit http://www.daytonhomeschool.com/ to see what we had in 2008. Anyway, we aren't RC either and would love to hang out with your family (or any other 4Real families reading this post) if you come by this way. We could even work out some sort of accommodations here if needed.

God bless,
Christine
