Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have been disappointed with the costumes for kids lately, but I was horrified with the anti-Catholic adult ones at Spirit of Halloween stores here. They have a growing gr*in priest and pregnant nun costume. When I called to complain I was told that it was a corporate decision NOT to pull them People are so sick these days.

I just sent an email to the company requesting they remove the offensive items. I'm sure I'll be ignored, but I also let them know that I will get the word out to family and friends and via my blog, if they refuse. You can contact them at help@spirithalloween.com. It was the only email I could find on the site.

I saw the items you mention online here. It's disgusting! And it is so sad, but at the moment I'm just peeved!

Tina don't forget things like letters to the newspaper.. you can get the word out to more people than just friends and family

Also if they have any advertising on their sites.. people supporting them.. ads on the radio or tv type of things.. you can contact those stations and/or the shows that they're associated with and tell them as well.

I just sent out an email to the company myself. I just wish there was something else we could do...

I emailed earlier. Here is a phone # for headquarters that I was given from the customer service-800-321-2497. I also posted here hoping to spread the word. (and vent a little to people I knew would understand)

Thankfully we didn't even go to that side of the Spirit Halloween near us. Although, I did see the "sweet and salty" or whatever they called the costumes for teenage girls that looked like inappropriate versions of classic costumes.

"Sassy" is the new code word for the teen tramp style costumes. I avoid taking my kids in those places, but we get ads in the mail with the grocery ads showing them as well.
