I know much of character training is learned within the context of daily life. But are there any resources out there geared for the 1st graders and up that make them think about character? What are your favorite books for character training?

I used a workbook called Building Christian Character with ds about 1st grade. It is put out by Teacher Created Materials, Inc. I probably isn't Catholic. We did the chapters we needed to work on and I never found anything out of line with our faith. It has activities, crafts, worksheet with word hunts and puzzles. I need to bring it back out for dd. Thanks for making me dig it out.

We have used the PACE guide book. It has different character traits and virtues for every month and readings, quotes and other ideas to go along with the monthly selection. If you search on "PACE" you might find some other threads where this guide was discussed.
