Saw this about today's saint:
Quote:
St. Amalburga (7th century) was a countess and the mother of three Saints, all of whom she taught herself, including religion. When her youngest had left home, she retired to monastery, where she led a life of prayer and asceticism.

Wouldn't it be nice to have someone write that about us a few centuries from now?

Well, around here -- chances are pretty slim that any of us, least of all me, would be named "venerable" let alone canonized!

Hmmm... I think she could be the unofficial patron saint of homeschooling moms.

Wow! It's NOT easy to find information about her! She seems to be confused with a couple of other saints by that name, and there is not much known. She's the patron saint of arm pain, fever, and bruises. But I think she absolutely should be the unofficial patron saint of homeschoolers!
