Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am offering a summer-long class in event planning, culminating in a 9-month internship with my company, A Lovely Affair. We will cover planning, working with vendors, and event sales. In addition, students will learn etiquette, ethnic and religious specialties, and floral design. I am a distinguished graduate of the Association of Bridal Consultants, a graduate of the Protocol School of Washington, and a trained floral designer under the tutelage of K.Margaret Heal. My husband and I also own and operate The Wedding Directory and Wedding Day Magazine.

We will meet once or twice weekly (depending upon class size), beginning in June and continue through until the end of August.   Classes will be held on Tuesdays (Thursday would be the second day, if required) in St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton, MA.

This program is a professional development program, not for the casual inquirer. Students will be prepared to work professionally as a wedding planner, a career field that continues to grow. Interns will have the opportunity to get hands on training in the design and planning of weddings and events, and to get first-hand experience in set-up, execution, and break down of events.

I am not aware of any other such program available to home-schooled families. My own daughter, Cate (16), will be taking the course. I welcome anyone aged 16 and over (including adults) to take the course. I need a minimum of 5 students to run the class and will take up to 20. You can see more about me and my company here.

The investment for this program is $1500. This includes books (a $500 value), materials, tuition, and a donation to the church for classroom space. Please email me for more information.

Blessings,
