I don't know where this should go so please move it if necessary!
Our library is going to be closed for almost a month  while they move from their old location to the new one  . I want to stock up on some books to tide us over while they are closed, but my daughter's little rolling backpacks can't hold very many at a time. So I am looking for suggestions. I asked if they would loan me a mover's dolly since essentially I am going to be helping them move. No deal.
Do any of you use those folding shopping carts to get your books to the car without throwing your back out. Will they stand up to the weight? Can you recommend any particular kind? I was originally looking for a wooden or plastic crate with wheels and a handle, but I couldn't find any.

No help here. I use the extra large LL Bean bag and it kills me each time. I've seen people use those fold down crates and I think you can get them from an office supply store. I was hesitant to use one because I was not sure how much weight it could support. I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable than I will respond.

I use one of the folding crates. I it! It works great. i've had it for years and it has really stood up! I have filled it to overflowing many times and it's still going strong.

How about a stroller? I have a double stroller with a seat in back and one in front and a pretty large storage space underneath. I imagine that without children in it, I could get more books into it than the folding crate that was linked to. Actually, even with a 1 year old in it, I can still get an unbelievable amount of books and dvds stashed in front and underneath, and around her! Even if you don't have one, maybe you could borrow one from a friend for that final library run?

I have a dear friend who takes her umbrella stroller in just for this purpose--she sometimes checks out over 100 books at a time!

Unfortunately we are strollerless right now. I wish I had a better reason to go buy one other than just library books. Not sure if I can borrow one from a friend, most of them are in use but it is an excellent idea! It probably would hold a ton of books and they fold up!

That is kind of what I had in mind when I first starting looking for them. I was thinking that if I did get something for the last few trips, it would probably be something we would use from here on out. On a regular basis we can pick up around 50 books that we usually divide between 3 or 4 book bags.

We use a rolling, insulated can carrier. You can see one here and can find them at Walmart and other places. They run about $20 and hold a lot of books. When it's not in use we fold it up and store it in the car for frozen purchases during hot weather.

I use a rubbermaid plastic bucket that has no lid and molded openings for handles (so it is essentially like a crate) and I roll it in and out on a folding luggage roller. Works like a charm...when I filled our February baskets, I checked out 68 books!

Hi,
I've never used it but I have seen a folding crate on with wheels with an extending handle at Office Max.
