We have been dealt a blow today.

We've been told that our 3 1/2 year old could have glodal development delay or something else. We already know that he has a very severe expressive language delay. I honestly thought that it was just that. We now have to have some tests, including blood. Not sure it that will even work.

Our second son has Aspergers, so I feel like we have been down this road already.

I am serously considering putting the eldest boys back in school so that I will have several days a week where I can focus totally on him and have a home programme for him. To be honest he gets ignored when we school because the other two need a lot of one on one time. He needs to be in a language rich environment and that's a bit hard when so much of my day is devoted to either homeschooling or trying to catch up on washing etc. I feel that if I don't do this and put them back in school for 2 years I'll regret it and wonder how much more he could have achieved if I had put the focus on him for a change. I also know that I have dropped the ball where he is concerned b/c my focus has been so hs centred.

So, have any of you experienced this or know of someone who has put thier kids back in school for a time to focus on the needs of one child?

I'm also just writing this to express my sorrow and to de-brief with others who may understand.

Oh, Tricia, I am so sorry to hear this! I totally understand your desire to focus on the little one, as he is the most needy right now.
I don't know if it is any comfort, but I have had all of my children (except the youngest) in school at one time or another, for various reasons. In fact my oldest two attend school right now. And I think they have all done just fine.
