Did I just read in Real Learning that nine colleges use legos for admission applications? As usual I am reading more than one book and couldn't remember which one. So.....could someone please help with some educationese for legos.   Thanks, Valerie

Well, I was hoping that someone else might be able to chime in with an answer. I'm pretty positive that you didn't find that in Real Learning, but I don't know where it was. Sorry I'm no help! BUMP!

I'm still wondering how to put legos into eduaction langage for elementary school. How is building with legos educational. I know they are, but I just can't seem to put it in words. Does that make sense?

Gosh, I never even considered that it would be controversial! I was just curious.

I don't know if this will help but google Bloom's taxonomy. I think this is what you are looking for or are thinking...writing objectives that may met state standars? Is this your goal?

So things like,
Given 4 red equally sized blocks, child will assemble/construct a square.
Given 30 random sized and colored legos, child will classify them into size, color, height, and shape.
Given an assembled lego building, child will estimate how many blocks were used to build the building.

I could go on but just do that. If this is what you were thinking to find.

Been meaning to come back and say that I'm so glad that you found it and SO glad to know it came from Real Learning! I've read that book several times, and *can't believe* that I wouldn't have remembered something like that since we live and breathe legos over here!
