Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone done the Further Up, Further In Unit Study? We plan to start it next week. Anyone have any suggestions, plusses, minuses? I'm not quite sure where to begin as there is *so* much in the plans, not to mention that I am rather new to Unit Studies, especially one this big! We are supplementing with a Catholic Bible and several stories about saints that were knights or similar.

For future, does anyone know of any Lord of the Rings Unit Studies?

I used Further Up several years ago with my oldest dd, now I'm doing again with the next oldest, my 10yold ds.

I was slightly disappointed because the year before I ever used Further Up I used the Prairie Primer...which is fantastic!!!! This Narnia unit is not as comprehensive...it's A LOT of bible work...which isn't a bad thing in and of itself...but if you are looking for science and history and so forth...it's not really there - mostly bible and literary type stuffs, some art ideas.

I obviously don't think it is all bad, as I am doing it again. I just know now not to expect as much as I got with Prairie Primer, which essentially spoiled me.

I hope some others will know about a LOTR study...I am hoping to do that with my oldest dd.
