I'm just wondering what you are using and would recommend for a color printer and a paper cutter. I read the threads on laminator and bought the Xyron 900. Now I'm wondering about the other two items which I think I should get, right? I'm more concerned about the cutter because I want to make sure that I will buy one that will cut through the laminated paper easily and precisely.

We recently bought a pair of Fiskars scissors with Teflon-coated blades. They work great for trimming laminated and sticky-backed stuff. Ordinary scissors can cut through the material fine, but they get all gunked up and have to be cleaned frequently.

Our paper trimmer just has regular blades, but, if we were shopping for a new one, I'd certainly look for one with the Teflon -- if such a thing exists!

I do have the cutter from Costco. It is a Fiskars as well and I do like it. Like Eleanor said, it does get gunky, but I just pulled it out and used a rubbing alochol wipe to clean it. A teflon coated one would be nice. I love getting super straight edges.

I love my color printer as well. It is laser so be forewarned that toner is pricey. We just replaced one and it was $139! And that would be for just 1 think of that for all four! Yikes! But that was replacing the toner that came with the printer which isn't a lot to start with anyway. I have nearly made it through a case of paper on the starter cartridges.

I have the Xyron 900 which is fabulous but cleaning the scissors does get frustrating. I have been too scared to use a paper cutter but might look out for scissors like these.

If you can afford it, get a laser printer - the printing costs are much lower. Kyocera is a good brand.

Joann's has a coupon on their site for 40% off one item, and they carry laminators (Xyron) and paper cutters.

Thanks Vicki for the link, but unfortunately they do not ship to Canada. We do have Michael's here so I'll have to go there and see what kind of paper cutters they carry.

Thank you everyone for your tips, like the teflon coating. I hope I find some!
