I read on an unschooling blog of unschooling photo-essays - photos uploaded of a day in the life...So, I followed us around yesterday with a camera and uploaded our files through our blog. I'd love to see other unschooling/real learning days in photos - you don't need a blog, you can just upload to Google/Picaso/Yahoo!

Leonie -- this is a fabulous idea ... I loved visiting your home (as if you lived right next door)! Maybe someday we can do this IRL??????

I encourage everyone to have a go - yes, we had to leave out lots of thing that we did ( no time to photograph eveything! lol!) , but there was a lot of value in the photo-essay. My kids enjoyed it, too.
If you ladies do a photo-essay, can you put a link here. So we can all share your days.

If you already have Google account ( Blogger) its easy - and the pics upload much faster than they do on Blogger!

I just did our First Day of School Photoessay/
It was fun, but a little time consuming.  I might try to do it once a month or so. The kids were great participants and enjoyed taking some of the snapshots.

All day I've been pondering how cool your photoessays were, Cay and Leonie, and wishing I had the patience and technological know-how to attempt such a project (I'm so low-tech, I don't even have an answering machine! ) Anyway, it occurred to me that-techno-low-brow that I am-I *could* participate...sorta...because a short video clip of us unschooling our morning away was posted on the internet a while back. In keeping with my technological challenges, I still don't know how to do a link but if you google "wedu tampa gulf coast journal" and go to the July episode---or maybe it's still the "Most Recent Episode---and scroll to the last segment (to about 18:00) you can see our unschooling day in action! It's really kind of silly, but it's good for a laugh, anyway.

Leonie, if you type in www.wedu.org it should bring you to the website (I just tried it and -ta dah- it worked :) Once that page comes up, go to the middle of the page where there's a guy in a hat and it says "Gulf Coast Journal" with Jack Perkins. Somewhere there is says "Watch most recent episode" which is still the July episode. It should work. Oh, and try not to laugh too much at us---those guys were obviously desperate for ANYTHING ( a slow week at the station!) so the resulting footage is, shall we say...rather comedic?!
