Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

How much of a factor should/or is it as a deciding factor in deciding on a curricula?
For example I am considering 2 different curriculas for this next year which are very close to what I am ideally looking for. I like #1 better but it is not a Catholic curricula. #2 is a Catholic curricula and I could use it because of that but I like #1 better. Should I necessarily go with #2 because it is Catholic?
I sure hope this makes sense as it has been weighing on me which to choose.
(Curricula #1 is a Christian curricula)

Darlene, go with your gut on this. There are SO MANY choices for home educators nowadays that it can be hard to sift through what will be right for your schoolng situation. Many of the curriculum we have used and will continue to use is Catholic, but many are not. Do you have a specific item in mind that you need a review of, as many of us would be able to help with that for sure
Blessings!

I always go catholic if at all possible
truely secular or neutral christain if I can't get catholic
I rarely choose obviously protestant materials and
I'll do without before I buy from an anti-catholic provider.

Sometimes it may be possible to catholise (sp!) it or whatever. For me though it isn't worth the time or doubts to do it.

I know that may not be a popular opinion here. I'm not bashing anyone who doesn't agree with me.

If my child can learn from it just as well AND it's Catholic, then I'm sold on it.

You just can't go wrong going Catholic, imho.

The non Catholic Curricula is called An Old Fashioned Education http://oldfashionededucation.com .
What do you think? Did I miss something in this that should red flag me? I will be using the religion from my other curricula choice for obvious reasons.

I had a quick look and that in the lady mentions she enjoys reading Kempis' Imitation of Christ and St Augustine's Confessions so I tend to think it is not strong anti-Catholic.

I won't buy Protestant material that attacks the Catholic faith but I suppose it depends on what subject you are interested in as to whether there is a real danger of that...
