Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Check out NACHE's website, www.nache.org I think, for past conference tapes. Matt Watkins has given some good dad talks. There are always a couple each year. Or at least there used to be.

Steve Wood has some tapes, too, I believe.

Just wanted to say that listening to tapes by Steve Wood has made a huge difference in my dh. His knowledge of the faith is so much stronger as Steve Wood is such an awesome teacher.
I also wanted to add that some time before Christmas there was a discussion about a "CD of the month club". The CD's are put out by Lighthouse Catholic Media which you can find here . I gave this to my dh for Christmas and each month he gets an absolutely wonderful CD to listen to. It's been a blessing for both of us. I will add though, that these CD's are not specifically about homeschooling. They are mostly about elements of our Catholic Faith, but I just thought I should mention them anyway. And thanks to Elizabeth for bring the CD of the Month Club up back in the fall!

Fr. Corapi talks about this? That's great.

How do I find that?

Thanks for these resources! Have you by chance listened to any of these cds? I am looking for something that is not really anti-school, but more just about the passion of learning and opportunities it can bring when you have real learning at home. Something like Elizabeth's book..but on cd. :)

I believe I purchased Fr. Corapi's from his website. I used to have it saved to my favorites. We bought a new computer, and I haven't had a chance to get everything transferred over. I don't remember it being terribly expensive.

I have listened to all of them at one point a few years ago, and dh listened to 1 or 2. They were very helpful and encouraging for him. There was one that I selected for him to listen to, I don't have it in front of me now.....so I'm not sure which one it is. I'll post later if I find it.

Call their phone number and tell the person what you are looking for and why. They usually have appropriate recommendations and can tell you what exactly ARE the differences between the choices.

I just listened to Fr. Corapi's CD on homeschooling yesterday and I just loved it. It was really inspiring.   Here is a quote from the CD of what it would be like if you didn't homeschool:

"Your lives could be much easier if you weren't involved in planning, you'd have more time...more leisure time. But I tell you this. You could never have a more profitible time. Homeschooling will bestow on your children a treasure far more valuable then any financial legacy or job..."

I loved this CD because he talks about CATHOLIC homeschooling and how we should impart our faith to our children and to others!

God bless.
