Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know where I can get a list of the descriptions of the old talks from past NACHE conferences? The NACHE website has a price listing but no talk titles and no descriptions. (I'd like to know what I'm ordering.)

This week I was listening to a few tapes that I'd ordered last year (for inspiration) and I'd like to order a few more of them.

What about the talks given by members here at this 4Real board, especially the ones about home education in the style of Charlotte Mason?

Anyone?

No, but if you look on their "publications" page, some of the tapes are described in the various Summer/winter newsletters...

I guess you could call their taping company and ask them to e-mail you a list?

Well, of course any of Elizabeth's talks would be great to have! MacBeth and Lissa as well!

I don't know where you can find descriptions, but I can tell you whose tapes I like to buy. After attending for several years, I have a "feel" for whose talks are going to be worth buying. And also, whose talks while good enough to listen to, I wouldn't buy.

Rachel Watkins- she always gives large family talks, very entertaining and helpful.

Dr Ray-very funny, not necessarily helpful for homeschooling, but inspiring for our way of life.

Andrew Pudewa- very informational and inspiring.

Kimberly Hahn gave a talk several years ago called how to fail at homeschooling. Very good.

Mary Hasson-usually gives good talks on marriage and family. She had a real good one on character years ago.

Cathy Duffy gave one years ago on learning styles.

Tapes I wouldn't buy:
Miki Hill- while she is usually informational, she tends to go off on tangents and have a lot of "dead air" time.

Any of the panel talks: usually there is a lot of repetition and the topics tend to stay very superficial.

Greg Popcak- not a lot of substance.

I will check through my stash of tapes this afternoon and let you know if I find any other good ones.

I tried emailing them at the email address listed on that page about a month ago and eventually got a delivery failure message. I was trying to order some of Hugh Gardner's history talks from years ago. I had emailed because back then it also listed the pages as being updated. I looked last week and noticed the same message. I wonder when it will be updated.
