Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

And I have all subjects and books - but not planned our schedule! Guess I will do the basic daily schedule we used last year and for planning just "do the next thing"! Oh well, not the best of plans but then again moving houses is what we spent our summer on!!!

You can start that way, but if you wanted more detail, you can plan to start that in a few weeks. I'd have some markers as to where you want to be in 6 weeks, so that you can keep on target. You could do that over then next few weeks as you do the next thing to start getting into the groove. Then follow more detailed plans.

Ah - feel better. I realized my ds 4rth grade I have the CHC plans - I just need to tweek the catechism as I am doing a different book. Everything else I am starting doing as the plan states and then tweeking as I go on and get the feel for them. For dd 9th grade I am going to have a syllabus for each subject. The syllabus will contain how often tests will be (for instance History after every chapter of Math every 4 chapters). It will aslo have a basic/generic list of weekly assignments. Most subjects this won't vary much from week to week. For example History has questions in each chapter to answer and a web site with practice quizes I will assign - then we will meet 2 times per week and I will keep that the same 2 days (probably tues and thur or wed and thur). Literature I will have a syllabus for each book we read. Math - we do saxon and basically meet daily for so no need for syllabus or detailed plans! Spanish is Rosseta Stone and well she will just continue it. Religion is one of the Didache books - again each week will look alot the same with questions to answers, maybe one day to meet to discuss and one weekly tests. I will probably through in a longer/several chapter mid term and final for some classes. That leaves science (which I out source), vocabulary (which is a book and no big planning needed) and writing (also a book I have on hand - all the planning needed is her and I meeting at the begining of each week to see how much time to assign the next assignment for and meeting at the various stages of that assignment.

So, I am not that far behind planning! I think the syllabus way is a good fit for dd as she is good at scheduling herself and pacing herself (my oldest now sophomore in college - when he was in 9th grade was a procrastinator and not good at scheduling his own time yet - but did learn and now is great at it). Shouln't take me too long to work on the syllabus for each subject between now and next week!
