I am curious, can an iPad be used as a document scanner? I have a printer/scanner, but it's on it's way out and it is just so much cheaper to get a printer alone. If the iPad had a scanning app it would be fantastic. I'd imagine it would be so much faster too?

Any recommendations, ideas?

It is costly as apps go, but considering that it replaces a scanner for $6, it's a good price. You can put scanned files on Evernote, Dropbox, or Google Docs, and you can easily email scanned documents...to yourself, or others. If you have Wi-Fi, you can set up Scanner Pro as a shared network drive and then you should be able to see it on your mac/PC, copying scanned files.
