Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know where I can find one or have one made?I am thinking ahead for the coming school year and would love to find a planner that is sectioned by subjects. For example, History, science, book log, ect. and then blank in that section for the kids or myself to fill in. We tend to do subjects in passionate spurts/blocks of time and then switch to another.

I know I could make one, but my little people like planners :o) Plus, I would like it to be a bit more durable than what I think I could do.....and I really dislike printing that much paper.

Here's a suggestion on making one like you are thinking.

I would incorporate the ProClick binding into making just what you want.

MicheleQ has Lesson Plans in her Family-Centered Press line, and you could ask to not have any holes punched.

Add some tabbed pages (make your own, there are even Post-It tabs, and Martha Stewart I think has some in the Avery line). That way you can organize how many pages for each subject and then just go to the tab to find your place.

Something even less expensive would be a 3 hole binder, add your tabs and make the planner.

Probably something you've already done...

Saigemom,

I think you NAILED it on the head! I'm going to run with this, sorry for babbling here.

I have been struggling with lesson plans as in somethings we fall behind, and then in a whirlwind those subjects get focused on and we sprint past everything else again.....

For example, we are nearly done spelling and grammar, they finish this week. But we changed our math program and are only 1/2 way through. Science we hit a road block where we need to be outside to do things, and until this week we either had snow or rain, and no bugs. So we are 2 units behind due to our seasonal patterns. So as the LA finishes up, we'll be able to focus on lots of science.

I love love the idea of planning by subject. It does mean several sections, but the kids have separate books for everything, so what is the issue I have with a separate section for each subject...hmmmm...

What would it look like? Is it a table with 5 days worth of lessons, with a check box? and a blank for date?

What my dd8 likes for her 'planner' is a checklist. I find when I do take the time to write out each assignment for her, she tends to work through everything with determination. She likes to see where her day will end. So a mini binder for her might be the ticket. Each month, clean it out and start fresh....

Oh, so much to think about..lol. Thanks!

Jenn - Thanks for letting me know that Michelle now has individual lesson planners! That might work if I put tabs in for the subjects. Have to think if there would be enough pages.

Mommy4ever- I would label mine day 1,2,3 instead of dates. I would like to have 1 planner that had subject dividers- similar to the way MODG plans are done, but blank for me to fill in.

Thanks Saigemom, I started inputting mine into a table. I'm really liking it! I started with my 4th grader.

once it's done(need to get my order in to totally complete), I'll be binding it for me with dividers built in.

For each subject/sub-subject I have laid out the plans in roughly a week's layout per table cell. So each is approx 10 pages(or 5 double sided) I have check boxes, and next to titles I have numbered it to be by the 'week', so that I can see at a glance where we are in relation to the year. So if we are January and only on week 10, I know we need to focus on that subject, but it it's week 24, I know we are about 'right' or 'ahead'. I mark my calendar with a week so that I know where we are in relation to when I want to wrap up the current year.

I am going to be able to do it for anything we work on :) So nothing get's left behind.

Thank you for the inspiration
