Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm interested in hearing how people store or display their postcards...

I have looked at a few post card albums- they look neat (though pricey for some). I also have considered just getting some type of storage box for them.

I have started picking up one post card from each place we visit, and I want to display them somehow so that the kids can look at them.

I like the idea of flipping through an album... not so keen on a wall display, since I don't have much wall space free. Any ideas?

We simply have a three-ring binder with page protectors inside and we put each postcard in the page protector held with a small piece of tape. We separate by state/country and put some information about each state/country behind the postcards.

I'm sure there's a nicer way, but that works for us. Things generally aren't handled very gently around here, if you know what I mean, and we've been keeping our postcards this way since my oldest was 5.

Back when I was a teenager I had a large walk-in closet where I kept my world map surrounded by my postcard collection. Alas, now they are all stuffed in a bin in the back of a closet somewhere.

I'm thinking the old-fashioned photo albums might be an easy an inexpensive way to display them since you needn't worry about the size of each individual card. They might be fairly cheap to acquire at a thrift store or garage sale as well.

Cigar boxes in the school room.
And ziplock bags.
A couple shoe boxes in the linen closet.
Oh, and an old (small) suitcase in my closet.
Some in random drawers in my dresser and nightstand.
I've collected them all my life.
My dad was in the military and everyone in the family sent them to me from where ever they went.
I was the grateful recipient of all my grandmothers postcards when she died. Many sent from my dad when he was active duty all over the world.
And I once purchased a big box full of them that come from an old closed convent at a rummage sale someplace. They are from all over the world when the sisters traveled. And, most are written in French (the convent was in Canada), which fortunately I can read. Very cool, ey?
I pull them out when we study the 50 states, it is fun to look at them. I always think I want to find some creative way to display or decorate with them.
Most likely, I'll just keep toting them around in bags and boxes and whathaveyou - and all my kids will wind up with a big o' pile of them each when I'm dead!!!

I stored my postcard collection growing up in a pretty small photo album (dollar store type?) Which reminds me, I wonder where it is, I bet my kids would like looking at it.....
