A while ago, someone sent me a list of the best Catholic Campus Ministries in the country. I can't find it. Does anyone remember seeing something like this? Can you help me find it?

I seem to recall maybe seeing something like this also, but can't remember where. A couple resources I know that aren't exactly that, but might be helpful are:
Cardinal Newman Society - They are working on a college guide
and
FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) which lists all the campuses where they have chapters. These are truly ones that I would include in a list of "best Catholic campus ministries."

I don't know about a certain list, but I know of a few really good ones at two non-Catholic universities -- Texas A & M and the University of Illinois. There might be another one in Kentucky or Kansas?
I have also heard very good things about William and Mary's campus ministry. This absolutely shocked me, since it was unbelievably liberal back when I was a student there.

Dh's brother is a major leader in FOCUS if you need help there. He's been upgraded into its administration and I think he's going to make it his career. . .
I second that FOCUS is great for college kids. There are quite a few campuses where they are active.

I think they have to be invited by the Bishop, but don't quote me on that. FOCUS may also ask permission. The college/university has to want them to come, also.

William and Mary has a super new priest who is here for a year (I don't know if he can extend....he is from New Jersey). He is our pastor's best friend and is remarkable. He became blind around age 5 and began playing the piano (I think) around age 15. His voice and his talent is incredible. Everyone loves when he comes to visit. If anyone happens to be checking out W&M take a minute to say hello to Fr. Mike Joly and tell him his other Va. parish says hello!
BTW-Our pastor used to be the campus priest for W&M and is absolutely wonderful too! I bet he is a big reason it has it's good reputation!

This is great news. When I was getting an MBA there in the mid-80s, the reputation was less than stellar.
So glad to hear things are on the upswing!

 Ditto everything Mary said. (Except that I was there in the mid-80s as an undergraduate.)
By the way, not to make you too jealous, Mary, but I stopped at the Cheese Shop in Williamsburg for sandwiches on both my way down to the Outer Banks and the way back last week. My girls are converts and look forward to this annual treat almost as much as I do!

Our pastor just celebrated his 10 yr ordination anniv. so he was not there til the late 90's or so...he has been here 3 yrs or so and I think he at St. Bede's just before that. We live near another college town and he is not as impressed with the kids here as he was in Williamsburg! Seems attendance at Mass was MUCH higher there!
Moving into the Richmond diocese was a bit worrisome to us but we have been blessed with such a holy priest!
Can I add a question to this thread? A new friend has taken over as campus minister (I'm not even sure if that is the correct title. She is just a layperson not a religious.) locally and is trying to boost the ministry. Would those of you who have college age dc suggest some activities or resources that would make it a great Catholic campus ministry? Right now there is very LITTLE participation.....I know that, in the past there was a rather liberal person organizing and leading things....the interim campus minister (who just left to attend a Pontifical Institute in Rome)and I discreetly got rid of quite a few books that he had assembled for the CCM house. What would you like to see in the best of Campus Ministries?

Adoration, Benediction, rosary, serious, solid study (Bible study in the South for sure but not the liberal gobbly gook), reverent, in obedience to the magisterium liturgical celebrations including daily Mass. Easy and frequent availability of Confession where sins are recognized as sins and time is taken to give spiritual direction. Don't pull any stunts like sitting around the sofa for Mass with Fr elevating the host from his comfy couch!!!!! REally - the basics that any adult Catholic really wants. At least this is what we were hoping to find at my dd college but it seems the feel good, silliness is in full swing there! We'll be checking out other nearby, off campus parishes (actually there is only 1) and hope and pray she'll find something solid. I know quite a few Catholics that will be looking somewhere other than the campus for Mass due to the brocure they sent out with Fr. elevating the host from his coach and the homily is a ask everyone what they think. Maybe well intentioned - but it drives people nuts and it is actually quite insulting to the college students that they have to be entertained. The college was so proud of all their campus ministries for all the churches and how informal it was and trying to reassure the parents not to get upset when the minister comes in for service in shorts (hopefully they are not referring to the Catholic chaplain). Funny thing - everyone we knew (Catholic and Protestant) immediately began searching off campus for a more solid, religious support. Students and parents heard all the warning bells ringing in full force!
One thing I have noticed is that once the liberal gobbly gook has been too ingrained, it takes some time before people will trust it again. The effects and damage last longer than the person's physical presence. The more solid what you offer is from the get go, the more likely you can rebuild trust. Disobedience in liturgical celebrations, in recommended reading, etc. do create an atmosphere of broken trust! We've seen this over and over again. And having a lay person in charge (while she may be wonderful and quite solid) tends to set off warning bells around here, especially after being worn out by the tragedy of disobedience. Also most of the things we are looking for require a priest - probably the most important is regular access to Mass and Confession.

FOCUS is wonderful! Our oldest dd was involved in FOCUS all four years at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, attending their Bible studies and sometimes their national conferences. It was at a FOCUS conference in Denver that she met the Little Sisters of the Poor. She worked for them last summer in Illinois and received her Call to join them, which she'll be doing this fall.
I've also heard very good things about the St. Lawrence Catholic student center at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
