I have this list of books. All look good in there own way. Could some of you let me know if I was doing this for a full credit with a 10th grader/11th grader which ones do you feel they would get the most out of? (question marks are just ones I haven't looked to see if my library has yet)
• Faith Facts by Suprenant/Gray
• Catholic for a Reason I, II, III by various authors
• The Usual Suspects (?) Keating
• One-Minute Apologist (?) Armstrong
• Top 10 Questions Catholics are Asked (?) Armstrong
• Faith of Our Fathers (?) Gibbons
• Catholicism & Fundamentalism(?)
• A Biblical Defense of Catholicism by Armstrong
• The Catholic Verses by Armstrong
• What Catholics Really Believe by Keating (HAVE)
• Responses to 101 Questions on the Mass by Irwin
• By What Authority by Shea
• The Compact History of the Catholic Church by Alan Schreck
Thanks Misty

Catholicism & Fundamentalism is a hard read. Not saying he couldn't do it but I'd get a look at it before you buy it.

These are both from Catholic United for the Faith. There is a Faith Facts I and II. You can get all of them online at their website as tracts without getting the books. I like them a lot. Very readable and very practical.
I love the Catholic for a Reason series. Haven't used it with teens for high school though it would be fine. Might not have them read everything but rather pick and choose topics. No way to read everything on this list here.

Dave armstrong's stuff is pretty good. Would probably only pick one if I were making a course from resources and go with different authors for others. That way get more variety. He has another one I like as a source book more than a straight read - Bible Proofs for Catholic Truths: A Source Book for Apologists and Inquirers

Good books each with a different focus so would cover different aspects of the topic.
I agree with Jodie (re: Catholicism & Fundamentalism) - not my favorite resource for a basic apologetics. I don't like the tone overall anyway.
This is an excellent apologetics resource from Catholic Answers: The Essential Catholic Survival Guide
The Fr. Chacon, Jim Burnham apologetics series is one I would also say is good for high school apologetics.

I am more of an audio person, at least at this stage of my life.
I would have them listen to Catholic Answers Live, especially when Jimmy Akin is on.
I also love the Journey Home is also a great way to "study" apologetic is to listen to people journey to the Catholic Faith.
Also, on the Journey Home TONS of people often state that reading the Church Fathers brought them into the Catholic Church. People, especially Protestants, are shocked to find out that the early Church don't resemble their church but the Catholic Church.
ETA: Jimmy Akin's Blog is good too. His newer information is more focused on the Pope and his Catholic Register Articles, but his older posts contain much good information expicially for every day things that we might face, like the "pagan origins of Easter" or "taboo topics on Hallowee". I think that Jimmy is quite leveal headed and really a phonominal apoligist!

For myself a reference book that has been a huge help to me is Where is That in the Bible by Patrick Madrid
Another one by Patrick Madrid is Search and Rescue: How to Bring Friends and Family Into... or Back Into.. the Catholic Church The reason I like this one is that it gave you more than just apologetics but how to interact with people so that they'll listen to you too.

Thank you for your input. It is very helpful! Audio is a great way to learn and do it in a different way especially in HS when there is so much reading. Thanks again.

I have heard this young man on the radio and I think he is quite good. His new book is one that I think would be an excellent addition to an apologetics book list.

A fun read to add to your list would be A Philadelphia Catholic in King James Court. It is an apologetics novel and an interesting story. There is also a study guide available.

We love Philadelphia Catholic and Beginning Apologetics for starters. Mark Shea's book, there's a new edition available. And Patrick Madrid's Where is That in the Bible. And yes, love Jimmy Akin!! Second the recommendation for his older posts.
They also like the story-type books, so I'd add
Surprised by Truth 1 & 2
Where We Got The Bible
Did Adam and Eve Have Belly Buttons?
For olders, I actually recommend Facebook.
I'm only half-kidding. Exposure to how people out there criticize the Catholic Church/Her teachings was very helpful in getting our kids to think more critically/hone their skills in debate and logic. I directed them to posts where people were arguing about the faith and they learned a lot from those. Of course you don't have to go on FB to see that. Maybe you can get together with other homeschoolers and hold some debates.

I am not in FB but I agree with what you are getting at. I think that that is what Fr. Barron does on YouTube with many of his post. He uses current topics and what is buzzing to meet people where they are at and evangelized them!
