Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can't find any discussions about 1--Did your student take the ACT or SAT and 2--If ACT did they include the essay?
Any thoughts?

For my oldest ds, they didn't have the essay! My next two have taken it with the essay. We live in MI, and the schools they have applied to (both in MI and also in OH, IL, PA and RI, and combo of public and private,) all accepted/required either the SAT or the ACT with essay/writing.

Since most schools around here focus on the ACT, and it is a requirement for a small competitive scholarship the state offers, that is what they took.

My friend in CA has three ds, and out there, they all took the SAT, in all its forms, all of which I am no longer familiar!

Mine have taken several ACTs without the written portion without any problems.

Laura,
I think the easiest thing to do, just to make sure, would be to check the requirements of the colleges in which your dc is interested.

Oh, one of the newest things, too, is that the ACT now requires students to upload a current photograph to ACT's website, before they take the test, and then they have to present photo id on test day. I guess it's a means of verifying that they are the ones who are actually taking it!

In Christ,

Devin took both the SAT and ACT but went with the SAT scores. ASU doesn't accept the writing section.

Aiden will also take the SAT. That's as far as we are .

Love,
