Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

You know I hear about these everywhere and everyone seems to like them. But I have never "seen" one. We are conservative in nature and wondering if you think these would fit the bill? Your thoughts? Also, do they speak on behalf of religion at all that, that alone would steer me away from them not holding to our Catholic faith?

They're economic. And I don't think they speak of religion at all. The reason you hear about them and people like them is that they're very readable. They're INTERESTING. You find yourself wanting to understand what they're saying. They're engaging. And in many ways I think they're apolitical too. In that they don't make judgments on current politics. Sure they point out when such and so happened how it effected economics.

Anyway I would certainly recommend getting Whatever Happened to Penny Candy and reading that one and seeing what you think for yourself.
