Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So, thought it would be fun to list our 9th grade plans for next year. THis is my 2nd oldest (1st one in college now!) but still like to see what others are doing as I plan!

Math: saxon algebra 2
lit: various literature with study guides (mostly from progeny press)
Spanish: rosetta stone
Grammar: Warriners (I think n. 3)
Writing - across the curriculum - mostly assignments in lit and history
vocab. - will pick up a SAT prep book somewhere
catechism: one from didache series (probably the intro. to Cath. one)
History: US history text - American Pageant
Science - biology (only outsourced class!)
Art - local class

Integrated history/literature
Composition: Jensen's Format Writing
Grammar: Jensen's Grammar
Saxon Algebra 2
General Biology course w/lab @Belmont Abbey
German @Belmont Abbey
Religion: probably Didache Intro to Catholicism, though I also lean towards an Old Testament Study (or having him do the Didache book on the Bible)
UPDATE: We've chosen to do the Understanding the Scriptures Didache book.
possibly a weekly art class through our local cultural center, for a fine arts credit

The bio class is a semester, so he may opt to take another college science in the spring, depending on what's available and how appropriate it is for him at this level. Ditto for German.

He's working on his Eagle project for Scouts and is a frequent altar server. He'll probably also be a classroom assistant for one of our parish Faith Formation classes.

My rising 9th grader has LDs, so this is with support (and we'll see how far we get in a year!)

Math: Teaching Textbooks Algebra 1

History and Literature: mostly Tapestry of Grace Year 1 (tweaked by me), writing will also be in here with their Writing Aids and my own stuff.

No separate grammar, but Apples and Pears for spelling

Spanish: Visual Link Spanish

catechism: Didache series (probably History of the Church) and Confirmation prep from our church

Biology: my own mind dump (I was a bio major and Exploring the Way Life Works, with online add ins like Khan Academy

Art and Music - CLAA classes, 2 week summer art camp, art lessons from my mom

I feel like I'm forgetting something...

Is there some way to see inside the Didache series books? So far the websites I have found that carry the series do not have this option. I would really like to page through it, or at least know a little more about it before buying...

A round about way to preview one of the orginal four texts would be to request a demo from My Catholic Faith Delivered as they incorporate the content of the textbook in their lessons in a straight forward style (which even includes page references).
