Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Do you really need to teach MLA? Are you planning to send your child to high school at any point?

I must admit, I clepped out of freshmen comp, but I don't recall being required to use MLA after high school??? It was a long time ago, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but its very possible that your child would never need it again in college.

Ime after college, most academic publications use the Chicago Manual of Style, and while its very similar to MLA, it is the more versatile style to use across subjects. I believe that there is yet another style (APA) that is primarily used in the sciences?

Anyway, my point is that I think that the Chicago Manual of Style would probably serve you well in teaching this and being familiar with it could be a benefit later. I think that the 16th edition is the most current.
