Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone have a favorite college level (freshman) english comp. text that a 12th grader could take to prepare for college writing?

The only textbook we used in college comp class was Turabian - we had a whole bunch of poetry and literature to analyze (Joyce short stories, etc.) but no writing textbook.

I realize this is little help...but...

I'll see if I can find out what they use at our community college, though.

Thanks.

I have been looking at a variety of texts. I am trying to find out what various colleges use but . . .I think now I've looked at too many and my head is swimming. Thought I'd lood here for those who have favorite. Hopefully I will find one that is not too literary analysis type and more writing across discipline type of text.

My 11th grader is taking Eng 101 at our local cc this semester. I can look tomorrow and see what the name of is book is, if that helps. He's in bed now and I think his books are in his room so can't check. If I don't post back, pm me.
