Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Most of my conversation so far has focused on college bound children. I would love to hear from those whose children have followed alternative routes - seminary, early marriage, trade school, entrepreneurial, workforce etc etc

Please share your stories...

I have been thinking it would be good to have a thread just for moms to share their grown children's religious vocation stories. But the non-college route stories are of great interest to me as well. I'm all ears!

Done! The thread is called "If your child chose the religious life...." Moms of seminarians, priests, religious brothers or sisters, please share your stories!

Marilyn, I just realized that another option has been left out: the military. Lots of hs graduates seem to have followed that path. Take a look at this thread if you haven't already: 4Real Kids: Where have they gone?
