I sent in my Termination of Homeschooling paperwork yesterday. Marianna decided to attend Key West High School this year. It is so odd not to be homeschooling, my family started when I was in 7th grade if I remember right - that was a long time ago! Now all of my sisters have gone off to college/are married and Marianna is in a brick and mortar school - crazy! I wonder what Mom and I will find to talk about now? I'll have to find some sort of hobby, I guess.
First day of school photo.

Too bad you don't live near me, I would put you to good work!
Good luck to you both as you set sail on your new course.

I was just wondering what was going on with your family! I'm sure there are many tears -- happy and sad. Emotional time!

I meant to get back here and say that I'm a little sad, Jen. It sounds like it is the best decision for all...but I'll miss hearing what you and Marianna are up to! Please keep sailing through, k?

We made a similiar decision 2 years ago for a similar reason. Our oldest really wants to go to West Point and while they do take homeschoolers, he knew it would be harder it get in as a homeschooler. Also, he really wanted a JROTC program.
He started his junior year a few weeks ago. He is now 2nd in command of his squadron and part of the school's nationally reknown drill and rifle team. It has suited him well.
I wish all the best to your daughter on this new phase of her life!
