Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

While this a strong point of mine (and science and math are not), I need a part-time grader for some of my high schooler's papers. We signed up for Kolbe last year for this exact purpose, but the papers came back to us so late, that after 2 months, it was useless trying to even edit them. The zip had zapped.

Then I hired a woman this summer to grade Marie's English papers this fall, but she evidently has backed out, because I can't get a hold of her now. She doesn't return any of my emails. (She once worked for Kolbe as a writing instructor).

I don't want a writing curriculum (Write at Home), etc. We tried Write Guide, but we were very disappointed in the writing instruction. In fact, I am wondering whether the grader even read my son's essays.

I want more than "nice work" or "spelling mistake- line 3". I want an solid assessment of her work.

Any suggestions??

Blessings,
Stephanie

How about a writing coach?
Here is the website.
http://www.writeathome.com
You can use them per paper. I was going to try them this year--this is not my strong suit and I want someone else to review my ds's writing.
I have not heard anything about them review-wise, figured it was worth a try. Sonlight uses them.

Anne,
Are you sure you mean Write at Home? They have courses....semester and full year. The assignments are already built in.

I don't want a coach. She writes well enough and we put together our own curriculum. I want a thorough editor.

Blessings,
Stephanie

They have a pay per paper blue square in the right side, middle of the page. I know Sonlight suggests them if Mom doesn't feel qualified to review writing assignments.
Not sure if it would be editor quality but might be worth looking into.
