I saw this mentioned as a good resource for FHC. However, when I looked it up I didn't see an actual curriculum for sale. Did I look in the wrong place? Am I missing something?
Thanks for any enlightenment. It sounded as if it would be beautiful.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is catechetical program, so you wouldn't be able to find a specific curriculum for it.  I recommend using the 4real search function, with CGS for topic subject. I was going to link you to some of the old threads, but there are so many to choose from that I thought you might prefer to look through them yourself.  You'll get a clearer picture if you do.

I am a trained Catechist in level 1 and 2. I'm halfway through my level 3 training. There are some lovely First Communion and First Reconciliation works. Another catechist and I are actually using some of it for our parish's sacramental prep program even though we only have a level 1 Atrium. Level 2 (ages 6-9) is where the sacramental prep comes in. I teach all three levels at another parish in the area.
Much of the FHC prep are meditations. But as I mentioned above, we've taken these along with the Eucharistic Presence of the Good Shepherd and used with non-Atrium children last spring at my parish's FHC retreat, and they still got loads out of it.

Melissa seems to have done what I did last year - we had several level 1 atrium sessions, and while the 2nd graders had their own usual class, we had additional or replacement sessions with an adapted level 2/FHC preparation. It was lovely and rich - the parents loved it, even though most were leery at first (it was all new for the both parishes).

Thanks for responding. I guess what I am looking for is some more specific information as to how it works. From what I've read, it's montessori based and very hands on, but other than that I've just seen book lists and materials.
How does it all come together? Could you give me an example of what you would do in a session?
I have a 7yo making FHC this year, but then I have an 8 and 10 yo also. I don't mind putting them all on the same level, but I really want to make FHC prep special for ds 7. He's been through it twice and is balking a bit at having to wait to have FHC when he already know the info from last year w/ dd8.
Also, I really think that dd 8 and ds10 would benefit. The program seems to be very heart centered instead of wkbk/rule centered.
Does all of that make sense? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I finally figured the search out!!! Yeah! I found the CGS moms blog and so many other wonderful pictures and step by steps of what it is.
Now, I just need to figure out which books.
