Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm trying to find a good resource for readng through history and science, preferrably catholic...

I know there's Let the Authors Speak and a few others.

I am wondering if anyone here could recommend a particuliar one and why?

Well I know its not a book but I find the descriptions in the Emmanuel bookscatalogue particulary helpful and it is Catholic! I like it because they have a very 'living books' approach.

There are several venues you can take. One of my favorites is to go to the Bethlehem Books Timeline. An actual *book* to look at and my next favorite would be Let the Authors Speak which, no surprise here, I found at Emmanuel Books! Emmanuel has other book lists if you look in the resource section. I haven't seen A Mother's List of Books, but the others rank below the two above resources IMHO.

I use the Bethlehem Books and Our Father's House catalogs. I also use the Reading Your Way Through History website. Not a book, but a GREAT resource! And I just saw that Alicia has a blog too (that you can get to from the website).

I have Let the Authors Speak, but find it almost overwhelming for some time periods. I generally start with the websites and the lists in the back of Real Learning, then turn to Let the Authors Speak if I need more.
