Hi, I am new to this website. I posted one other time on this subject, but didn't get many replies. I'm not sure where to go for homeschool material. I have looked on the web and basically can't find much in the way of "Catholic homeschool" info./curriculum, etc. My kids are in school right now, so I have time. I just need to know where to get started. I've been thinking about this since my oldest started school, but haven't talked dh into it just yet, but think I may be getting close! Are there any good websites you can tell me about that explain different curriculums, etc.?
I don't know, maybe I'm not supposed to be on this site unless I already homeschool. If I shouldn't be here, please let me know.

First off, let me welcome you here. Thinking about homeschooling is just where you need to be to be posting on this board. Next, I'd like to direct you to a few of my favorite homeschool websites (aside from this one, of course ).
Catholic Heritage Curricula is where I get my backbone. These lesson plans tell me whether I'm on track. Not only that, they have wonderful religion and history supplements inside.
Bethlehem Books is another place I go for great books, a timeline to go with the books, and encouragement. I love this site!
Emmanuel Books is a very Catholic, very homeschool-friendly site.
Five in a Row is another favorite website. Though this one is not Catholic, it has simple studies that even *I* can do with my kids. 
I'm sure others on this board will have different favorites, but these are the ones I use most frequently.

Of course you should be here - this is a great place to learn about homeschooling even before you are doing it. And there are also members who aren't homeschooling at all, but still benefit from being a part of their children's education and faith formation (parents are still always the "primary educators".)
A great resource for looking at and evaluating different curriculum is Cathy Duffy's book - 100 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum. She has info on determining your child's learning style to help find curriculum. It's not specifically on Catholic curriculums but she is Catholic and does include info on some Catholic curriulums.
And this is the section of her website that specifically reviews the Catholic resources and curricula.

What MaryM said. My son is only 3, and I'm on here to gather information and plan our homeschool.
Another place which reviews resources is Love2Learn....
While you are discerning, read. Have you read Elizabeth's book "Real Learning" yet? There are other homeschooling books that can help you feel out what type of approach and curriculum would be right for your family. This page has a list of Catholic homeschooling books. This list of Charlotte Mason method can really help you understand this approach. And MicheleQ and KathrynUK's curriculum Mater Amabilis is free and you can get a good idea of CM with a Catholic twist.
There are other approaches, I'm still not versed in reading material to recommend: classical, unschooling, Montessori. The classical appeals to me, but there are so many divergent ways that I'm overwhelmed from the start! I'd love to see a suggested links and booklist for that.
Oh, I forgot! Lissa had some fabulous posts on different approaches. Go to her sidebar and follow "The Curriculum Series" and also see her posts on Homeschooling in general.

You certainly should be here!!! Do you know what type of homeschooling atmopshere you lean towards~classical, unschooling, Montessori, etc? I would think taking some time to read through the different fourms here would help immensely. Take a peek at Catholic Mosiac..this book is on my wish list..lots of great reads and ideas to follow.
What homeschooling books have you read? Books can give invaluable tips and overviews into educating and fostering a love of learning in your home. Also, reading blogs of the 4real moms has helped me see how they plan and execute their days. The sharing of their lives is so inspiring to me. Many of the blogs have sidebars were you can link to books,articles, sites and various sources to help you plan your own homeschooling adventures.
I can't get links to work for me at the moment..it might have to do with our computer...we are trying to download several seasons of our favorite tv shows...it is how we are preparing for winter!
