Hi, gang! I have finally found a minute to update the Real Learning Blogroll. If you have a blog, would you mind checking to make sure I've got it there (and with the correct link)? Thanks!
If I'm missing anyone, my apologies--just drop me a note! I went through all the Blogroll posts but it's entirely possible I missed something.
This blogroll is available for importing as an OMPL file if you'd like to add it to your own sidebar. Again, just give me a holler.
Also, I've updated the Webring again. There are still several blogs in the queue awaiting code. I think I've emailed it to everyone; if you need help adding the HTML to your blog just let me know.

Wow! What a huge undertaking, Lissa! Thank you so much. I think I'd like to import it, take down my current sidebar and put this one up. Mine is woefully out of date.

Hi Lissa,
My blog address is now www.stthereseacademy.typepad.com
When we get back to Texas I'll yell for help on how to import the blogroll and webring.
Thanks for all the hard work!

In Typepad it's really easy. Just set up a new links Typelist and click its Manage tab. Then click Import/Export. You'll be importing an OMPL file, but I'll have to email it to you because I can't upload that type of file here.
Make sure you configure the typelist to display at least 70 items—there are 65 blogs on the blogroll!

Lissa,
Should we pm you if we want the OMPL file to upload to our blog? Or post here? Obviously, I want it.
ETA: Thank you for doing this. I've been woefully negligent in updating my list.

It *is* hard to keep up-to-date! My blogroll has been a mess for months. I was shocked to see how many I was missing! And I'm sure there are still a few...

Lissa,
THANKS for all your hard work on this. Mine is one there (St. Athanasius Academy) but I haven't updated in a while as we're still in a state offlux. Once we move (closing, God willing on Wednesday) I'll be active once again......

Just tonight I was thinking, "There MUST be some way someone could export the blogroll so I can get it without having to individually enter each one!!!" I'm definately interested in this, Lissa --- Let me know what I need to do. Also, would you mind telling me what kind of typelist I use to create my booklists (I'd love to have the little bookcovers, too, but haven't been able to figure it out!) Thanks SO much!!!

Hi Kristin, I'm not Lissa, but just thought I'd let you know that to make a booklist on Typepad, go to Typelists; create a new one and make it a "Reading Typelist." Then you can enter the ISBN number of the books you'd like to include by looking on the back of the book (if you have it) or by checking Amazon for the number. Usually the little bookcover pops right up, though sometimes the cover is not available and then you would just have the link.
HTH!

Thanks so much, Dawn! That sounds SOOOOOOO easy! Very exciting! I thought you had to go download the picture from Amazon or something. I also thought maybe it was an Amazon wish list (I think I'vve seen those in the design setup at Typepad --- do you know what those are?)
Also, do you mind explaining to me what a Trackback is and how exactly it works? I can't seem to figure it out!!!

Kristin, I don't know exactly how to do an Amazon wishlist but considering how big my "Save for Later" shopping cart is, I probably should set some up!
Speaking of wishlists, (and not to jump around too much but), is "delicious" (there's some dots in there somewhere) like a big wishlist? I see it is a widget at Typepad. I really should read up more on the widgets!

I still have yet to figure those out!! I have my blog set to accept Trackbacks, but I don't know how to do one when I link to someone else's blog. I'm not even sure what they do ...
Sorry I'm not much help! Anyone else?

This I know. When you reference someone else's blog and link to the particular post, you should put the trackback into the trackback box at the bottom of the page when you post. Clear as mud? When you go to the actual page you linked to, say to Elizabeth's blog, there will be a trackback address right before the comment section of the post. Copy that address and place it in the trackback portion of the page where you create your post.
What this does is let the author and other people reading it that you have referenced and linked to the blog. This helps create more traffic for you as people who are reading the blog will see that you mentioned it and may want to read what you wrote. Still clear as mud, but that's what it does.
Sorry it's as well as I can explain it. It's easier when I can just point to it and say this is where you put this.
Also, Kristin, don't forget to put your Amazon associates number into your information page so that you receive the money not Typepad.

Del.icio.us is actually a social bookmarking system. You can sign up for it and then as you surf the net you can add things to it so that you can come back and visit them again without having to search. You can also put some del.iciou.us widgets on your blog so that readers can add your posts to their del.icio.us bookmarks

I LOVE del.icio.us! I use it to mark posts I want Scott to read, posts I want to blog about, etc. It's a way to store bookmarks on the web rather than your hard drive, which is very convenient if you use more than one computer.
And since it allows you assign tags to the posts you bookmark, it's easy to find things again. Also, you can share your bookmarks with friends, like this: my del.icio.us.
My "topost" tag is for things I intended to post about. I don't always get around to doing so, though! LOL.

Elena and Lissa, thank you for explaining del.icio.us. It sounds really neat - I'll have to check it out! I have a Favorites folder on my pc that is WAY overdue for a pruning. Maybe this is a better way of keeping things at my fingertips.
