Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

and I'm very excited! We went to the informational meeting today. The co-op meets 1 day a week from 12:30 -3:30. The groups are broken up by age (5-7) and (8-11). My ds (age 6) will be taking Spanish, an art class (ever heard of Atelier Art?) and joining a cub scout den. My dd (age 8) will be taking Spanish, beginning ballet (taught by a 16 yr old in the co-op) and a social studies class based on the book Children from Australia to Zimbabwe.

We haven't done a co-op since my dd was 5 and we were getting our feet wet in the homeschooling scene. I am really excited to see it coming together. It's not a Catholic group, but they don't require a statement of faith and they women I've met are lovely Christian women. I even met one who has motivated me to go purchase "A Thomas Jefferson Education".

I just had to share my excitement. A morning meditation I read today talked about believing that God has good things in store. I had been a little apprehensive about this upcoming year b/c I haven't totally solidified my plans, but I feel very motivated now!

Courtney,
I am so happy that you all have found something you think the kids will enjoy!
Your excitement is catching! I need to go start working on my plans for the school year...first trimester nausea has set me back 2 months!
BUT, I am finally beginning to feel better and am so happy!

Sounds like fun, Courtney!

We go to weejly Group Learning each term and it is a co-op, I guess. The topics we do always broaden both the kids and myself and give us rabbit trails to follow at home. Have fun!

Sounds great, Courtney! I keep praying for some kind of group to pop up around here, but no such luck yet. Hope it turns out to be a very positive thing for all of you!
