Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Martha,

Pardon my ignorance but what is FUFI?

Are you after book suggestions or unit studies or something else?

Martha, these look really good! I didn't know anything about them prior to your post, but I looked them up just now and think they would be great to use with my boys who love both series of books. Would love to read more about your experiences with the Prairie Primer.

Erin, I believe Martha means these:

Prairie Primer
Further Up and Further In (FUFI)

un-oh..
sorry

Yes, I meant Further Up and Further In!

I found the Prairie Primer had just enough structure and framing to make me feel secure (? for lack of a better word before I've had my coffee), but not so much that I was stressed out or over-whelmed. They are very full, but it's not stressfull at all to pick and choose - you don't feel pressed to do it all. We just did a mini-course over an extended summer last year and really enjoyed it.

Huge surprise and added bonus - even my dh enjoyed it! He went out of his way to bring home "cracklings" and such ... uh... wait a minute.. I think I've had the wool pulled over my eyes... We happen to have done a good deal of cooking and eating with that study.... I think that man of mine only participated for the food! I was sitting here thinking about how helpfull he was and how curious he was about what we were doing next and it occurs to me that he was only interested in my prairie cooking experiments!   I feel so misled and used!

Oh well, whatever it takes to educate right ladies?
