Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm mixing up the school week at bit this year to allow a full day to focus on one subject. I'll update throughout the week to let you know how each subject goes.

MONDAY

Today we are doing Math. The older two each did two lessons on their Teaching Textbooks, and we've done various games.

-Equate with my 11YO. Wow, my brain isn't used to thinking like that. Very challenging. He kicked my butt.
-Money Bags with my 7YO, 5YO, and 4YO. The two little ones needed help. My 7YO has loved playing this since he was 6 when he first learned coin values.
-Math Drills using Math Fact Bottle Caps that I made this summer
-Make Tens Go Fish with my 7YO

Left for this afternoon:

-Sum Swamp with the younger three
-Rack-O
-Buy It Right with the younger three
-my 7YO is insisting we play Monopoly today
-maybe a few games of Skip Bo
-Multiplication War with my 11YO.

TUESDAY

Today is History/Geography day. On the schedule:

-several of our scheduled readings for this week (Ancient Egypt/Pyramids is our course of study)
-two more chapters in Seabird, while DS11 does the next lesson in Geography: A Literature Approach
-a salt-dough map of Ancient Egypt, which we would never get to in a normal school day.
-a few games of 10 Days in Europe, which goes well with our study of the geography of Europe in Classically Catholic Memory this year.
-later this afternoon, we are going to watch Prince of Egypt
-10 Days in the USA, just because it's one of our favorite games.
-a few documentaries about Ancient Egypt that I am able to stream from Amazon
-some map drills of Europe from Sheppard Software

WEDNESDAY

Science today!

-readings from Noeo Chem II
-three experiments from Adevntures with Atoms and Molecules
-the Lava-Blasting Volcano Kit that one of my kids got for their birthday and we've never done
-Kit #29 from the Young Scientist Series. It's been sitting in our closet....
-Chemistry: Periodic Table of the Elements (I love Amazon Prime!)
-Wonders of Science: Volume One

Whew, we have a lot to do before the kids' Book Club at 3:00!

Fun week!

THURSDAY

Classically Catholic Co-op today.

FRIDAY

Fun Friday! On the list for today:

-a few science experiments we didn't get to on Wednesday
-This art project from That Artist Woman. Blowing black paint through straws?! This could be dangerous.
-The Great Mr. Handel (which I haven't previewed, but thanks to Amazon reviews I was able to see that this was shown on EWTN, so I feel OK showing it!)
-Kids' Club co-op this afternoon, where the kids will do messy crafts and get to hang with some of their friends.

That's the end of a fun week. I have to admit, though, that without a typical schedule it was easy to get off-track!
