Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So this Christmas we are using some of our school funding (we have some gov't funding for homeschooling here) to get dd8 and iPad.

There just never seems to be a computer available when it she needs to do research. The older girls have netbooks, ds bought himself a laptop.

We didn't want more toys, and this seemed to be the best. She wanted iPod touch like her brother( which he bought for himself). She isn't into music, so it was limiting.   We asked the school board if we could get an iPad with her funding and they said absolutely yes.

So we did. I am playing with it now, and have to say, I am very impressed. I have installed many free apps. And bought notability. Tha app is so cool. I imported her Math Mammoth into it, selecting only a couple pages. Then with a stylus she can write on the tablet and complete her work without printing, she can then save it as PDF and put back in Dropbox and I can view it on my computer.

So I am wondering what other cool apps that are out there?

We have homework work one that I can list her daily assignments and she can check off as well as a chore one. I have installed several games, learning activities.

I have told duh we will need to get mommy one and I think he's consenting. As he can see dd and I fighting over this one.   Lol...but seriously it's that cool and there are so many apps I'd love to use for me. But alas it's to be hers, so school do fun related.

LOVE it!!!!!

So any one else using an iPad? Would love to hear what you are using, I know right now it'll cut back on our paper and ink consumption. As we have lots of ebooks, now we can write on them digitally. I don't even find the keyboard to awkward to use either.

My DS7 LOVES Stack the States, Stack the Countries, and Rocket Math. There are also a lot of free ones from The Smithsonian Institute. There are a ton of great ones out there.

Check out this thread:
