Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've been considering planning one week/term where we focus only on one specific thing of interest. It'd be a break from the rest of our subjects (which still get tedious around here once in awhile), and a fun way to just immerse ourselves in something we are excited about.

Does anyone schedule week-long breaks any time in their year? Or have a time when you focus on just one thing? Right now my girls are really excited about fall and mushrooms, so I'm considering taking next week to immerse in that. Take nature walks all over, eat outside for lunches while we're out, read lots of books about seasons changing... (if only the weather would cool off in CA!)

Oh, that sounds delightful! We are just finishing up our sixth week here. I schedule one week off after each 6 week term. It gives me a short goal to look forward to, as well as time to prepare for the upcoming weeks. I haven't giving too much thought on how to spend our "break week" and this sounds just wonderful.

We also have mushrooms popping up everywhere and have already had quite a blast making spore prints during the early morning hours!
