For those who don't school year round. I am brain dead - boost my creativity and lack of motivation - give me fun, cheap, ideas to enjoy the last weeks of summer with my 8 year old and 13 year old (also my soon to be college freshmen!)

Lots of cities have the kids bowl free program... two free games per day for just the cost of shoe rental ($2 in my town). We have been enjoying that.

Our library also has many free programs for kids- littles to teens- that involve books and crafts, movies, etc.

We hit the beach and the pool a lot... it has been fun to shake up that routine by doing something different, such as taking a picnic dinner to the pool and enjoying the late afternoon/early evening there instead of the morning or right after lunch.
