Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone here have a paid subscription to Quia (short for Quintessential Instructional Archive)?

I see how useful this would be for a classroom teacher in terms of organizing activites/quizzes/assignments for classes, but I am interested in the amazing shared activities on the site.

In building my high school biology course, I came across a link to some of the activities offered at Quia - they're interactive (meaning the student interacts with the game/activity/lesson right on the computer and the computer calculates a score or keeps up with correct answers, etc), and some of them are really quite intriguing!! There seems to be something for every age/grade/ability covering an AMAZING VARIETY AND BREADTH of subjects....to include AP science courses. It's not a scanty collection by any stretch of the imagination!

BUT...the subscription cost is $49/year per individual instructor. I can see that there are a plethora of things I could use from this site for all my children....but I wonder if I can't just find an adequate amount online for free (???) without subscribing to this site, as nice as it seems. I probably wouldn't be using the class/quiz feature, but it is available. I already have a lengthy (and really amazing) collection of links to both resources and interactive sites for my Biology course.

I subscribed to the 30 day trial, but I'm not sure I could get a sense of how much I'd actually use this site in just 30 days.

So...does anyone subscribe to this site? Find it worthwhile???? I'd appreciate any feedback!

I used to belong to Quia way back when...it was all free at one time. I really liked it then though it was fairly basic. Didn't have nearly all that you describe - definitely no AP high school level at that time. At the time it went to paid subscription, I didn't feel I used it enough to justify the cost so didn't continue. I haven't looked at it in years. Hmmm....

Have you tried Quizlet? It is free (we do our Henle vocab on there).
