Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Sipping a cup coffee, looking through that infamous phone-book sized homeschool catalog. And here's what I encountered:

"Trail Guide to Learning: Paths of Exploration", recommended for grades 2-6.
"When several very talented authors create a curriculum that combines the educational philosophies of Ruth Beechick and Charlotte Mason, you know it's worth taking a look. ...[T]his curriculum attempts to guide students in building their thinking skills through the knowledge they gain, not as a separate process."

It goes on for over a full page of small-print description of details. Has anyone heard of this or know anyone who uses it? Maybe it's brand new, so no one has a track record with it, but it certainly sounds intriguing!

Peace,
Nancy

I have heard quite a bit about it during the last year. It is fairly new, so I don't know too many who are actually using it yet. There is a Yahoo group for it that I have heard is very helpful but I am not sure of the link. Sorry.

Here's a link to more information about the curriculum: Trail Guide to Learning, and here is Cathy Duffy's review of it.
