The local schools here are having a good ten days off. I was planning just to take Holy Week off and maybe Easter Monday.
I do feel ready for a break- but I thought a week would be long enough?
Anyone doing a really big block of time off?

We do a "short day" holy week Wednesday through the complete Octave of Easter. That gives us just about 12 days off.

Michele- huh. I had never thought of working the days like that, but I really like this idea. Thank you for sharing!

We've had most of this week off because we had cousins staying during their spring break. And I haven't even thought about anything else yet. probably just a short time like Wednesday through Easter or maybe Easter Monday.

During Monday to Wednesday of Holy Week we have 'school days' but the 'lessons' consist of preparing for the Triduum.
The Triduum and Easter Octave are not 'school days'.
[In our household'School days' are defined as days where we have 'school breakfasts'-regardless of the formal lesson component.]
During the Easter Octave we pray the Stations of Light or Via Lucis and enjoy baking, spiritual and fun read-alouds with no formal lessons.

We are planning on being off for Holy Week (spring cleaning the first three days - if that is called being off!) and then also off for Easter week too.

We don't really have spring break... the public schools are off right now, but we're still working. My son wants to finish 1st grade so he can delve into our science kits and a few other projects that are reserved for "when 1st grade is finished."
We'll cut back during Holy Week - focus solely on our faith during that time.
But we take things very laid back around here - if we do school 2 days a week some weeks, we always get caught up and ahead in other weeks, so it all balances out.

All of next week and possibly thru Wednesday of the next...for my sanity.
Being at the camp during the early days of spring makes us *unschool* in a very natural, fleur de lis kind-of-way this time of year.

Sadly, we took spring break last week because my parents were in town! (It was fun, but it went by fast and I wish we had next week off too.)
We'll take Thursday and Friday off, and probably have a slow week for the first few days. I really, really want to go camping and sailing, but that will have to wait a while longer.

Some of my kids will get the next two weeks off. But I want to work with others until Wednesday of next week and starting again the Wednesday after Easter.

We're schooling through Thursday, then heading to my Father's on Good Friday and spending the week with him and my Cincinnati family. I plan on doing Stations most every day leading up to Good Friday. The kids love the Holy Heroes version and the companion coloring books.
Even though we're taking the week off, we're going to the zoo and Children's Museum, maybe the Underground Railroad, so we will get some school in.
God bless -

We won't be having one, as my morning sickness followed by continuing miscarriage complications have really set us back.
We will still take Good Friday off.
May all who are taking a spring vacation have an enjoyable time!

We took our spring break in early March when we visited the grandparents in San Diego. So we'll probably just take the Triduum off now.

Our spring break will last until summer break begins.
The kids are too busy learning with books, games, etc. to worry about "school".
God bless,

We do the 12 week term thing, so at the end of each term, we take a week off, kindof, for my older son to do some term exams, which he likes doing, my younger son to just play and relax, and me to clean, reorganinze, and plan for the next term. We had our break 3 weeks ago. However, at the end of April, while my dh is doing a big project at his plant, we are going to take a trip to Jamestown and surrounding areas, just me and boys, and that will be a break, too.
And we'll chill, reflect, etc. on Good Friday, and Easter Monday.

We'll be taking two weeks off, but truthfully it will end up being closer to three as we probably won't get much achieved in Holy Week.
