Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This is kind of a spin-off from the previous doodling post and I didn't really know how to research but what kind of journal, notebook etc. is conducive for the child drawing AND writing?   Of course there's regular spiral bound ruled paper but not really conducive for artwork with writings. I have regular art books but no lines really for "writing". Is is better to do more of a 3 ring binder with options for both types of pages in there?

Any suggestions or past links someone can send?

Thanks,

They do make those journals that are half and half. I think they call them story paper, with blank space up top and lines below. Mainly these are primary ruled, but you can find them in standard rule as well.

Miller Paper has the story paper pads in all writing widths.

Bienfang Note/Sketch Books are a nice quality of half and half notebooks for making long lasting notes and sketches. There are ones that have the blank half on the top of the page and ones that have the blank half on the right side of the paper.

I love these sketch books and immediately thought of them for your doodler, Kathryn!

I've seen many children use the bound graphing paper notebooks - with the blue lines light enough it's not a distraction to written work, but can provide some guidance as to spaces for doodling versus spaces for work (and they can create some really neat geometric artwork!).
