Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

for preschoolers and toddlers, please!

My computer will not let me search and I am pulling my hair out (only the gray ones, of course!)trying to keep my little dears, dd3.5 and ds2 next month) from killing each other while I am trying to get things done with the older kids! Honestly, how do I keep them happy and busy for more than 10 minutes?! (You would think I was new at this!)

Feel free to leave suggestions or just give me some old thread links.

I just want to say I use workboxes, but not with my 2yo. He just dumps them all out on the floor and walks away! It works better for him if I take out one item, like large beads and chenille stems, and show him how to use it, then let him go for a while. Of course, I have to keep going back to get him started on something new when he gets bored with it, but it helps a little.   I often say to one of my older kids - "get the toddler started on some play-do", or "set up a ramp for the toddler and give him some cars" (an all time favorite!). Speaking of the ramp, another thing my toddler LOVES right now is rolling marbles down a shoot. We have a hollow meter stick, just big enough for a marble. He holds one end and rolls the marbles down it so they pop out the other end. He would enjoy it just as much if it was a wrapping paper tube, pvc pipe or something similar. Actually PVC pipe and gulf or ping pong balls sounds like a great Christmas gift idea!!

Editing to add - if there is danger that your 2 year old will put the marbles in his mouth don't use this idea, of course. My 2 year old has grown out of the "everything in the mouth" stage but I still watch him carefully and only give him a couple of marbles so I can keep track of them.
