Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My husband got me an ipod for mothers day, and I just LOVE it. He also got me the docking station, so the kids and I listen to audio books at breakfast, I have downloaded my Little Flowers CD's to it so we can listen to that.
I have a few podcasts I listen to, and have downloaded many audio books from libravox (In God's Garden, by Amy Steedman, Famous Men of the Middle Ages, Our Island Story, Beatrix Potter and so on).

But, I am looking for some new ideas. Audiobooks, podcasts, or childrens music that I hadn't thought of yet.

I wish they had Glory Stories in the itunes store
But, I haven't located them yet -

So, any suggestions? Help me out!

Thanks

I just downloaded a John Michael Talbot CD from iTunes with mostly songs from Mass. I also have started a wonderful Christmas playlist with Christmas songs - fun stuff like Bruce Springsteen and also Christian music.

I made a "4th grade" playlist which includes all the classical pieces that the boys are supposed to know by the end of the year. I also included other pieces either by the same composers or others from the same time period that we are studying. Next I plan to add the audio biographies of the same composers.

It has worked so well--much easier than cds--that all of us have already learned most of the pieces.

THanks for the tips.

I found 2 Thanksgiving poems:
http://librivox.org/the-new-england-boys-song-about-thanksgi ving-day-by-lydia-maria-child/

http://librivox.org/the-trimmed-lamp-by-o-henry/

I love the   "_ grade" playlist idea.
I will be using it.

Thanks

POEMS! Very brainy!

I'm starting an Advent music playlist too.

Yes, poetry! LibriVox has a lot of poetry. The download of Jabberwocky is really helpful for pronunciation, just ask my dd!

Also, we've put tons of our cd's on iTunes, and put them on iPods. It's so nice to have them all together instead of searching around for the cd we want.

Homeschool Freebie of the Day sometimes has some real gems, too.

If you have any favorite cd's (like Glory Stories), you can load them onto your ipod. I like to check out audiobooks from the library (the Little House series, for example), and load them on. Just make sure you delete them when you're finished so that you aren't infringing on any copyrights. Some libraries have an audiobook download service that allows you to download directly to your mp3 player from the internet like you do with itunes (I don't know if it works on ipods).
