Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I wanted to share some strewing from our home!

Sandra Dodd talks about strewing here.

Strewing is leaving resources around, or up high but around visually, to inspire children, to ignite pasions. Lissa called this strategic strewing.

We watched the Prince Caspian movie on the weekend and I strewed a little Narnia basket. There is a pic on my blog.

I put in the Narnia books, a unit study guide, Thomas donated his lion teddy for Aslan and we had some Narnia figures to strew.

As a result, visitors see the basket and keep talking about the books, the film, Lewis to me and the kids. Great discussions! And the younger two have picked up the books and are re-reading their way through the series.

A successful strew! From Sandra’s site above ~ The more you strew, the more you do!

I love the concept of strewing because it works so well! I've had things out (because it always takes me such an inordinate amount of time to put things away) and the children are diving right in. It's been wonderful to see where their interest lies.

I love this idea, too, Leonie! I started "strewing" a couple of years ago and I just love how it leads to little pockets of learning around the home.

Love your basket - I hadn't thought of putting figures in ours yet!!    Brilliant idea!
