Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I thought it would be fun to find out just how much homeschooling wisdom we have on this board. So...
Tell me, ladies, just how long have you been at this homeschooling thing?

We started with kindergarten for our oldest in September 2001. So we're going into our eighth year! Doesn't seem possible.

1992 when my oldest was five. Before I discovered homeschooling I had visions of being a homeroom mom, having my kids in the school plays, etc. I loved school as a kid and couldn't wait to have my kids in school! Then my husband introduced homeschooling to me and here I am still homeschooling!

We just finished our 9th year. Wow. I've been looking forward to the high school years (oldest starts next year) because I can actually *remember* what I did in high school! I had no idea about the previous years. (Maybe that was my excuse for winging it so much!    )

I'm the "baby" so far! I voted for 2 years, but really we have only been at it for 1.5. Hoping to say 13-14 someday

14 years of homeschooling and my youngest is only 3! I will be in my mid to late 60s when I'm done!

I have 12 years under my belt-and still have a 2 year old. (That will be alot a years-

Theresa, if you can put this poll up again in about 15 years-that would be great!)

The kids did go to school for a year and a half when I was sick. My husband calls this time "the lost years").

Wow! I feel like a baby! We're just in our 3rd year, but it looks like I have at least 16 more years!

Blessings,

Just finished our third year...I'm in the toddler range with MaryAn(I'm 36). Wish we had started out hs'ing, but my first two spent a year or two in a formal school setting until I convinced dh to let me do this!

Jen

Oops...I guess I am actually in the preschool range.
