I was wondering if any one uses this supplier? I am starting to really lean towards the CM approach and I am still in the process of picking and choosing.
I know they are a Christian Homeschooling family.

I have purchased items from them at conferences, where I met them years ago. They carry nice puppets, living books, and journaling items. I know they carry many more protestant items than I would use, but their CM/living booklist is good, and at conferences, it's easy to shop.

Yes it is.
I was looking at some of the living books.

I would avoid Sandi Queen's literature guides - I flipped through some of them at a conference and I don't remember which one - it was maybe a guide for "I, Juan de Pareja" or "The Door in the Wall" - where pretty much anything that even hinted at Catholicism was refuted and replaced by what the Bible "really" says.

Ah, see now? I never use lit guides, so
I would totally miss this. Thanks for the heads-up, Donna!

I bought Language Lessons for Little Ones to help me get into the whole Charlotte Mason thing with my Pre-K and K - it was good with nothing anti-Catholic in it.
I may be selling it (we used it as a non-consumable)

I bought several of the Language Lessons for several of my dc for next school year. I went through them pretty closely and didn't see anything either. But I will certainly be checking even more closely, again.

We use the Language Lessons for little ones and we LOVE it!!
I also use the copywork for little girls, it lists a manner for them to copy each day.

I figured that they would somewhere have to be anti catholic. Their statement of faith is OSAS. And they quote KJV for all their scripture, so naturally I am not surprised by what I am hearing.
What literature guides would you reccomend?
I am interested in the copy work for little girls though that sounds nice.

How is the LL for Little Ones different from Hillside's First Language Lessons - does anyone know? The samples looked similar.
...maybe geared toward a younger age? Isn't FLL for 2nd grade and up?

Laura,
The LL for Little Ones is designed for a five year old (non-reader). Many of the exercises involve oral narration/drawing a picture after reading a poem, etc. Some exercises involve letter identification. FLL is for 2nd grade and up. I have used and am currently using the Queen's product and really enjoy it. The art work is beautiful, and the exercises are not overwhelming. Karen

Oh, excellent! Thank you! This sounds so good for my not-quite-yet reading almost 6 year old. I have PLL and ILL, and love the style of them, but they are too much for her yet.

I have the PLL and ILL books too. I have done those in the past with the kiddos. Sometimes I have done them out loud with them, which goes okay. Other times, if it was an older child, I'd have them write it out. But my dc always complained that it was hard to keep the book open to copy it out, or some other problem.
One of the main reasons I bought the LLs from Queen was because they are consumable. This way it can all be together and no worries about losing anything, or worrying about finding this copywork notebook or English notebook or blah blah blah.
Plus...the picutres are all in color and large in the LLs!!!

Okay - so for you Moms who have used Queen's products, would you say a beginning reader should go with level 1 or 2? (It was hard to tell from the samples, as the level 1 sample was the first lesson, and level 2 was the 50th lesson....)
She knows her letters, and knows all the sounds they make, and can pick out *some* 3-letter words, but not with total consistency. But, she has been sounding out more and more words. (She just was able to sound out all the words on the Level 2, page 3 sample.)
So, I am thinking level 2? (How funny, I like the painting in the level one sample! I am sad that level 2 won't have *that* painting! We might miss something! excuse me while I go and laugh at myself.)

Laura,
I would start with Book 2 for a beginning reader. The first book only has exercises that involve letter recognition. Karen
