Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just got an email this morning asking this question. I'm not sure how to answer. Can anyone help me give her some advice?

I'm looking for any ideas, words of wisdom, suggestions, basically anything anyone has to offer in regards to bringing my 13 yr old home to learn. Thanks so much for any help you could give. This is such a hard decision so that I make sure she gets a great education and that she won't grow to hate being home, or not being with her friends.

Thanks in advance.

I have a friend who brought her 13 year old son home to educate this last fall.

One thing that made it easier for them was how much they explained their concerns and listened closely to what he was saying and his concerns. You might advise her to start attending high school homeschool functions with her child so that she can see that their is an active life for the homeschool teen.
